Bryan TrilliTopic: Scheduling Service

Company: Culligan, Farmington, NM & Culligan of Amarillo, TX

Presenter: Lead: Bryan Trilli, Assistants: Jimmy Lewis & Tom Grimes

Bryan is a third-generation Culligan Man. According to the Social Security Administration, in 1995, at the ripe age of 13, he received his first paycheck from the dealership his grandfather started in 1947. Obviously this was before minimum wage laws (or at least that's what his father told him). From 2002 to 2008 he worked as a software and technology consultant with KDS Moses for Culligans (and their competitors) throughout North America. In 2008, he purchased dealerships in Farmington, NM and Salida, CO. However, numerous colleagues have informed him that doesn't excuse him from continuing to help fellow dealers implement the latest technologies and so he still performs the occasional consult. Bryan holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University which he primarily uses to make cars, boats, and motorcycles go faster than what most would consider prudent.

Workshop Outline:

This workshop will look at integrated service scheduling tools currently in use in small/medium sized dealerships. Bryan will demo using the KDS computer software package to schedule, manage and monitor service work. Jimmy & Tom will demo a combo that uses both KDS for customer info with a separate scheduling software to schedule service work and manage the service team. Service scheduling tools are becoming more important as more dealerships are utilizing performance pay for their service people. We may look at a few other systems out there. We will talk about some of the fundamentals of service scheduling and share our story of going from sticking paper on walls to having a fully computerized system that lets use see our work load and compensate service personnel for the work they do ... not merely driving around in a truck for 8 hours.
